Almost every person today is owned a portable music device. It became very popular, therefore music players are everywhere, and are not so expensive.
Most of the devices today come with very large capacity of memory that can keep all of your songs, so when you carry your portable device with you, you are actually carry all of your songs.
There are 2 main technologies; small devices use a flash memory, which is an electronic chip of memory, and larger devices use a magnetic disk. Devices with a magnetic disk have larger memory than devices based flash memory. However, flash memory devices are much smaller, and are very comfortable to use when exercising.
Music devices organize the music by artist, genre, album, personal playlists and more. When I find time, I create play lists of different types of music. For example, workout music, 90s, 80s, trance "shmans"... However, having so much music is often confusing, and it's not easy to choose what to play. Therefore, what I really like the most is to just to play the entire list, after all, it contains all the songs that I am supposed to like.

Yaniv,
I think it's awesome to own that portable music device. I have seen that i-pod from young people and young adults. Although I don't have one, I'm just curious if it will not affect their hearing ability in the long run. I have heard that electronic device used close to your ears will eventually damage your hearing ability. Since you are an engineer, which music device do you think is the best to own?
Yaniv.
It is really interesting all the things that I learn today from your blog. However, can you believe that I don't have one yet. My sister does and I alwas use her music device just to go to the gym that's it. May be after all the information i got to day i will get one.
Hi Tess,
It depends on how you will use it.
If you want it for a gym or working out, I'd recommend you small device, one that you can hang on your arm or attach to your clothes. However, if you want to play music in your house through the amplifier or in your car, I'd recommend on a larger device since it could store all of your music. I use the Zune, it is the Microsoft version of Ipod. I have all my music there, some movies, pictures and I can play radio too.
